appear.in is a webservice based on WebRTC, which is a standard for realtime communication in a browser. this standard is supported by all main browsers, just the mobile version of safari doesnt support it till now. but apple already announced the support of WebRTC in safari in the next version.
There is a free plan for up to 4 participants, with screensharing, audio, video and chat.
