Her research has included the use of mobile devices in primary and secondary schools, and technology-enabled professional learning such as Massive Open Online Courses for Community Learning and Development practitioners. Most recently she has been involved in the development of podcasts to improve access to parentcraft (antenatal) education in the Scottish highlands. She is keen to help people use technologies when it is appropriate for pedagogical reasons.

Meet the MINE - Team

Ema Kusen has graduated in Informatics and Pedagogy at the University of Rijeka (Croatia). Currently, she is enrolled in a PhD program at the Institute for Information Systems and New Media (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria) where she focuses on studying the aspects of information sharing and social connectedness over social media.

Glória Bastos is professor at Universidade Aberta (the Portuguese Open University) and she is currently pro-rector for Pedagogical Innovation and E-learning. She works in distance higher education for more than twenty-five years and she has been involved mainly in teacher education. She is interested in the role of ICT in education and in reading promotion and wants to understand how digital tools can enhance teaching and learning experiences in F2F and online contexts.

Teresa Cardoso is graduated in Foreign Languages (University of Coimbra, 2001) and holds a PhD in Didactics (University of Aveiro, 2007). She has been a teacher at the Universidade Aberta, the Portuguese Open University, for a decade. She is a researcher at the Distance Education and Elearning Laboratory – LE@D, Laboratório de Educação a Distância e Elearning, and has recently assumed the scientific coordination of this R&D Unit. Her research interests include digital assessment and ICT in educational contexts, mobile-learning and pedagogical innovation and OER. She has participated in national and European projects, edited books and organized national and international conferences, meetings and seminars.
