Meet the MINE - Team

The main team as for now consists of members from four countries: Austria, Portugal, Great Britain and Germany.

TEAM Austria
	Thomas Peterseil is the project coordinator of MINE.
	Ema Kusen has graduated in Informatics and Pedagogy at the University of Rijeka (Croatia). Currently, she is enrolled in a PhD program at the Institute for Information Systems and New Media (Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria) where she focuses on studying the aspects of information sharing and social connectedness over social media.

TEAM Portugal
	Glória Bastos is professor at Universidade Aberta (the Portuguese Open University) and she is currently pro-rector for Pedagogical Innovation and E-learning. She works in distance higher education for more than twenty-five years and she has been involved mainly in teacher education. She is interested in the role of ICT in education and in reading promotion and wants to understand how digital tools can enhance teaching and learning experiences in F2F and online contexts.
	Teresa Cardoso is graduated in Foreign Languages (University of Coimbra, 2001) and holds a PhD in Didactics (University of Aveiro, 2007). She has been a teacher at the Universidade Aberta, the Portuguese Open University, for a decade. She is a researcher at the Distance Education and Elearning Laboratory – LE@D, Laboratório de Educação a Distância e Elearning, and has recently assumed the scientific coordination of this R&D Unit. Her research interests include digital assessment and ICT in educational contexts, mobile-learning and pedagogical innovation and OER. She has participated in national and European projects, edited books and organized national and international conferences, meetings and seminars.

TEAM Scotland
	Sarah Cornelius is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Aberdeen. She has over 25 years experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of distance and online learning in post-compulsory education and Geographical Information Systems. Her research explores teachers’ and learners’ experiences of technology enhanced learning, and has included mobile learning, virtual classrooms, online collaboration and research supervision. Sarah is project lead for the University of Aberdeen’s MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) partnership with Futurelearn, which fits well with her aspirations to see technology used effectively to widen and improve learning opportunities for adult and professional learners.
	Dr. Rachel Shanks is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at the University of Aberdeen. She has designed and taught blended and wholly online undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Her research has included the use of mobile devices in primary and secondary schools, and technology-enabled professional learning such as Massive Open Online Courses for Community Learning and Development practitioners. Most recently she has been involved in the development of podcasts to improve access to parentcraft (antenatal) education in the Scottish highlands. She is keen to help people use technologies when it is appropriate for pedagogical reasons.

TEAM Germany
	Dr. Jasmin Bastian is junior professor for Educational Science/Media Education at the University of Mainz in Germany. She has tried out some mobile learning scenarios in the past and is eager to push this topic further within the context of higher education. In her research she focusses on learning and teaching with media.
	Dr. Petra Bauer is a scientist and lecturer at the University of Mainz. She´s a member of the working group of Media Literacy since 2006. Over the years she has gained a broad range of experience in teaching at the university as well as in the field of adult education and vocational training. To keep the quality high, she loves to try out new methods und digital tools for the supplement of her instructions. In her research she focuses on innovative teaching and learning scenarios and projects.
	Daniel Milanovic is currently studying to become a teacher for the subjects German, Russian and History and is a research assistant at the Mine-Project. He thinks that introducing teachers to mobile learning at university, where they acquired their teaching-skills, seems a great and natural way to pass a new way of learning on to the upcoming generations of pupils.
	Tim Riplinger has been involved in the reasearch and evaluation of several projects which focused on the implementation of tablets in schools. This experience made him more curious about mobile learning in higher education, e.g. for furture teachers, because he believes that this is the future of learning.
	Anna Geritan is currently studying Educational Science, focusing on Lifelong Learning and Media Education. She came in contact with mobile learning opportunities in the context of university courses and she experienced working with them as meaningful and enriching. She's looking forward to discover more opportunities and prospects of mobile learning in this project.
